However, I have a bigger question for community newspapers entering the digital space: what is it you would like to know that could help you create the kind of digital presence you are looking to create in the digital space? What are the challenges you face for your specific scenarios? What does your business need to accomplish in the digital space, right here and now?
I’m genuinely curious about this, as I have found the many small newspapers who have expressed a variety of issues, including lack of budget for what they want to lack of staff resources to put their plan into action. I have a feeling the problems are large, spiraling out of control, to the point of leaving you paralyzed and limited to repurposing content to your website, leaving all other suggestions of digital options as far back on the back burner as possible.
I may be wrong, but as of now I fear I may be right. I just don’t know exactly why.
