Forty six years ago—in July 1971—college student Michael Hart created the first digital book when he types the Declaration of Independece into a computer at the University of IIIinois. It took only a decade after for reference books to move to electronic editions. Not until 2000s, however, did digital publishing take off, launching a revolution that would conquer the publishing industry via the disrupting vehicle of mobile technology.
